GOD AT WORK

CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

God at Work Capital Campaign is now open.

Why do we need a campaign?

The buildings surrounding the historic sanctuary at Christ Church were erected in the 1960’s and are in much need to repair. The roof over the education “L” shaped building needs to be replaced. It is to the point where it is starting to shed.  The cost of the roof replacement is $48,792.00.

What is the name of the company who will carry out the replacement?

Roof Pros USA.

We are in receipt of six estimates. These estimates were shared with the vestry. After careful consideration, the vestry chose Roof Pros USA. This company was used by one of our members who is very satisfied with their work.

How much money are you hoping to raise through the capital campaign?

$35,000.00.

We have a previous diocesan loan of $12,250.00 which was received in August of 2021. We have approximately $6000.00 which we have collected so far.

We are securing a diocesan loan to help offset any unforeseen issues which could be exposed once the material is lifted off the building.

Why do the replacement in the first place?

The education “L” shaped building houses the Blossom’s Academy which provides a variety of modes of therapy for children from ages two to teenagers. Christ Church has benefited from having Blossom’s Academy here as it brings in much needed funds for maintaining  God’s mission and ministry to the community. We see this program as providing a much needed program for the communities of Longwood and surrounding. The mission of the church – A beacon to the neighbor is very much lived out by being the church who accepts all.

How can you contribute to the fund?

You contribute by giving what you can. No amount is too small! And it adds up! Support the monthly Spaghetti Dinners and encourage family and friends to come out.

When will the project begin?

Late fall – Winter months 2022.

Let us prayer: Glory to God whose power working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. Glory to Him from generation to generation in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever. Amen.
