Sunday Service - First Sunday in Lent

  • Christ Church, Inc 151 West Church Avenue Longwood, FL, 32750 United States (map)

Today is the First Sunday of Lent and we are honoring Black History Month.  Paul in the epistle makes a comparison between the actions of Adam and Jesus. He writes, "Therefore just as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all, so one man's act of righteousness leads to justification for all." Jesus came to correct the punishment of death caused by Adam and conquered death so that we may have everlasting life.

Readings

Psalm 32

Romans 5:12-19 - The New Testament

Last week many of you received a spam text or email from someone posing as me. With the high level of fictitious and spam material out there,we have to be very aware and vigilant. If you are unsure about someone you received an email or text from, communicate with the person who sent it to you. In this case, the person said it was me. Call me regardless of what it reads. If you cannot get me, call the church office. If you cannot get them, call my husband. If you cannot get him, call another church member.  Do NOT take any action until you speak with someone.

Thank you to everyone who came out in support of the Pancake Supper. As it was so well attended, I say it should go on next year's calendar. Kudos to Vicki for spearheading this event and to the chefs!!

The Mutual Ministry Survey is attached to this email or it can be found at the church and in the parish hall. Today is the last day to submit your survey. If you have not already done so, please fill it out today and return as quickly as possible. You do not need to put your name on it.

Below is the list for this year's food drive for Longwood Elementary. The drive will run for one more week. All items need to be in by next Sunday March 5. There is still time for friends and family to help with your contribution towards food scarcity.

The annual clean up day is Saturday March 11 beginning at 8am. We need all hands on deck. The more hands, the lighter the work. Help beautify the grounds at Christ Church. If you can donate plants or mulch please let Mother Michelle know.
