Sunday Service - Fifth Sunday in Lent

  • Christ Church, Inc 151 West Church Avenue Longwood, FL, 32750 United States (map)

Psalm 130:4 says, " I wait for the Lord, my soul waits for Him; in His word is my hope," and I think of Lazarus waiting for Jesus to arrive. When life becomes difficult and begins to stink, it seems as though God is not close by. We think He is not aware. However Jesus shows us in today's gospel that He is aware of our pain and even when the worse happens. In our powerlessness, His hope is magnified. This is the final sign Jesus will perform prior to His death. The Pharisees and the high priests have heard and seen enough as Lazarus is raised from death. Please join us in worship.

Readings

Ezekiel 37:1-14 - The Old Testament Reading

Psalm 130

Romans 8:6-11 - The New Testament Reading

John 11:1- 45 - The Gospel Reading

The liturgy, readings and hymns of the day can be found in the bulletin link below.

Bulletin March 26 2023

The story of Lazarus reminds us to unbind ourselves from doubt and other entanglements and be open to Jesus' call.
