Bulletin Nov 6 2022 All Saints Sunday
The saints in my life brought me to Jesus and taught me about His immeasurable goodness. I pray that we now will pass on these teachings to those who are now with us.
Announcements
We are pleased to welcome all visitors to in person worship. Thank you for joining us! Welcome to those people watching online. Each Sunday there are a number of people who join us on the web and we want to acknowledge how grateful we are to have you worshiping with us. If this is your first time watching us virtually, Christ Church is located in the historic downtown area in Longwood. For more information visit - www.christchurchlongwood.com.
Or come visit us, we would love to welcome you in person.
On this All Saints Sunday, we are reminded that we will all leave this earth one day. Are you prepared? Have you made your final wishes known? Can anyone find your wishes? Are they written down? If you are in need of guidance, there is a form in the parish hall and on the website. Mother Michelle will assist you with this difficult aspect of life. Make an appointment to come in and see her.
Please sign up for shifts at the fall festival if you have not already done so. If family members are joining us, please make a note of where they will be volunteering. After service on Nov 13, we will be setting up the parish hall and checking to ensure we are all ready.
The Stewardship Campaign is on the way. The stewardship campaign provides the opportunity to examine your commitment to God. Your pledge is a signal that you understand God's vision and mission for His church. Take a pledge card home and pray over your contribution of time, treasure and talent. Pledge cards are on the website, in the church and parish hall and attached below.
The God at Work Capital Campaign will continue as there is so much to be repaired on the buildings.
The vestry is seeking two new members as Flora Pinder and Lee Crawford will have completed their 3 year term at the end of the year. Although the vestry handles the business of the church, this is a ministry. Pray about your involvement in vestry and if you are interested, please speak with Patti Choate or Vicki Nidgorski and set up an appointment to speak with Mother Michelle.
If thanksgiving is knocking at our door, Christmas will soon be here! This is another favorite time of the year. Despite its demands, we enjoy the season. For the past two years we have collected items for the Sharing Center's Christmas Food Bags. The list of items can be found in the parish hall, the website and the church. Involve your family and friends and make this a family event. Many people want to know how they can help at Christmas time and this is an excellent way to help those facing food scarcity. Please see Lee Crawford for more information.
