Church Service - Youth Lead

  • Christ Church, Inc 151 West Church Avenue Longwood, FL, 32750 United States (map)

"He was trying to see who Jesus was, but on account of the crowd he could not." Zacchaeus, being a short man, climbed a tree in order to have a clear vision of Jesus. Do you have a clear vision of Jesus? Zacchaeus did not allow his height to prevent him from seeing Jesus. He used what was there and because of his persistence, salvation came to him and his house. How can this story help you to bring Jesus to the home of a friend or family member?

Join us please as the young adults and youth lead us in worship.

We are Jesus' hands and feet in this world. Be the disciple Jesus is calling you to be. Tell someone about Him. The story of Zacchaeus may be just what they need to hear.

We are pleased to welcome all visitors to in person worship. Thank you for joining us! Welcome to those people watching online. Each Sunday there are a number of people who join us on the web and we want to acknowledge how grateful we are to have you worshiping with us. If this is your first time watching us virtually, Christ Church is located in the historic downtown area in Longwood. For more information visit - www.christchurchlongwood.com.

Or come visit us, we would love to welcome you in person.

We wish to thank all our youth who participated and planned today's service. They are all so talented.

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Virginia Warner. Virginia was in the hospital when she passed on last Sunday night. A service is being planned at this time for Saturday Nov 12 at 1pm. Should this change I will let you know. Please keep Virginia and her family in your prayers. May her soul and the souls of all the departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Please keep Heather Rose and her family in prayer as her father passed away in Jamaica. May he rest in peace.

The Annual Stewardship campaign begins today for 2023. The stewardship campaign provides the opportunity to examine your commitment to God. Your pledge is a signal that you understand God's vision and mission for His church. Take a pledge card home and pray over your contribution of time, treasure and talent.

Are your weekly 2022 pledges up to date? At last week's vestry meeting, the bookkeeper informed us that September's contributions were much less than expected. There is still time to get your pledges up to date. If you would like to receive a more recent record of your giving, please contact Melissa in the office.

The vestry is calling a special meeting on Sunday Nov 6 to discuss the 2023 budget. Please keep your vestry in prayer as they discern the mission and vision for Christ Church.

The vestry is seeking two new members as Flora Pinder and Lee Crawford will have completed their 3 year term at the end of the year. Although the vestry handles the business of the church, this is a ministry. Pray about your involvement in vestry and if you are interested, please speak with Patti Choate or Vicki Nidgorski and set up an appointment to speak with Mother Michelle.

Roof Pro's has completed the roof replacement. They will still be property putting gutters and applying finishing touches. Please continue to support the God at Work capital campaign. There is still much more to be repaired on the "L" building.

Have you signed up for shifts at the Fall Festival? At the meeting following the service, the committee will be looking at how many shifts are filled and what needs to be done. The fall festival is just three weeks away.

If thanksgiving is knocking at our door, Christmas will soon be here! This is another favorite time of the year. Despite its demands, we enjoy the season. For the past two years we have collected items for the Sharing Center's Christmas Food Bags. The list of items can be found in the parish hall, the website and the church. Involve your family and friends and make this a family event. Many people want to know how they can help at Christmas time and this is an excellent way to help those facing food scarcity. Please see Lee Crawford for more information.
