Church Service - Second Sunday in Advent

  • Christ Church, Inc 151 West Church Avenue Longwood, FL, 32750 United States (map)

The imagery of the Isaiah passage is one of idyllic harmony and peace. If only we could exist like this today. There is a Christmas song which says, "why can't this Christmas feeling exist among all people through the year." Thank goodness we have a baby who will usher in peace, a peace which surpasses all understanding and calms our hearts. Please join us as we light the second candle of Advent - The Candle of Peace.

Readings

Isaiah 11:1-10 - The Old Testament Reading

Psalm 72:1-7. 18-19

Romans 15:4-13 - The New Testament Reading

Matthew 3:1-12 - The Gospel

The liturgy, readings and hymns of the day can be found in the bulletin link below.

Bulletin December 4 2022

I know I long for the day when our world will be at peace. Several parts of the world face a peak Christmas with war in their cities and towns. Let us remember them this Christmas as we meet the new born baby Jesus Christ who will be the Prince of Peace. Pray for them to receive the hope and peace He will bring.

A huge thank you to everyone who contributed to The Sharing Centers Christmas Food Bags. Your generosity will touch many families this Christmas. A total of 38 bags were collected with several gift cards. Thank you to Lee, her granddaughter and Ginger for getting the bags ready and to Sandy who delivered the bags on Thursday.

We would like to wish God's blessings and safe travels to Elaine Dyson as she prepares to relocate to Chicago. Elaine will be returning to the area as she finishes up her business here and for vacation.
