Often, we forget to truly appreciate the wonderful world we have inherited. There is brilliant sunshine, balmy breezes, lush green lawns stretching for miles; animals that live in the wild, grow and survive on what is provided in the land; a land which nourishes and replenishes on its own. We have inherited lands rich in nutrients and vivid color. Living upon this land are people from every tribe and nation who work the land and thrive on what it provides for them. Our land is there for us as God provided.
Genesis Chapter One “Let the earth put forth vegetation: plants yielding seed, and fruit trees of every kind on earth that bear fruit with the seed in it.” And it was so. 12 The earth brought forth vegetation: plants yielding seed of every kind, and trees of every kind bearing fruit with the seed in it.
Then God said, “Let us make humankind in our image, according to our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the wild animals of the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.”
God’s creative power moved and filled, built and crafted movement, sound, color and joy as life happened. Plants and animals were given the capacity to continue to reproduce so that the earth will always be replenished. One thing which has been evident and felt throughout the creation story is a God who is delighted at what He is doing. He is loving what He is doing. He is caring about what He is doing. There is a feeling of joy and satisfaction as each phase is completed. Our God is loving on us. He is building relationships with us. Never feel God has forgotten about you or is far from you. For God is creator, Provider, Sustainer, Loving. Feel His love today!
May our appreciation for our world increase as we observe it with fresh eyes; may our love for God be overflowing and may the grace of Jesus Christ shower us to do His will.
