Welcome!

We are delighted that you are considering a visit. Whether you are a lifelong member of the Church or simply exploring, you are most welcome here. It is our prayer that you will find a sense of peace, reverence, and belonging as you join us for worship.

Worship & Liturgy

Our worship is grounded in the historic liturgy of the Church, following the Book of Common Prayer and enriched by the singing of hymns. The service is shaped by Scripture, prayer, and the celebration of Holy Eucharist.

You will notice a rhythm to our worship, with moments of standing, sitting, and kneeling, as well as spoken responses shared by the congregation. If you are unfamiliar with liturgical worship, please feel entirely at ease—simply participate as you feel comfortable. The order of service is provided to guide you, and no prior experience is needed.

Holy Eucharist

The celebration of Holy Eucharist is at the heart of our worship.

All baptized believers are invited to receive the sacrament. You may receive the bread and either drink from the common cup or dip the wafer into the wine.

When it is time to receive, you are invited to come forward by the center aisle and kneel at the altar rail. If you are unable to kneel, you are welcome to stand. After receiving, you may return to your seat by the side aisles.

If you would prefer to receive a blessing instead of Communion, you are warmly invited to come forward and simply cross your arms over your chest.

Children & Sunday School

Children hold a special place in the life of our parish. During the service, they are invited to come forward to the altar to receive a blessing from the priest. Following this, they are dismissed to Sunday School for a time of learning and fellowship.

They return to the church at the time of Holy Eucharist, so that families may be present together for this central act of worship.

Wherever you may be on your journey of faith, you are invited to join us in worship. Come as you are, and enter into the prayers and praises of the Church at your own pace. We look forward to welcoming you.

If you have any questions as you plan your visit, we would be glad to hear from you. Please feel free to contact us or email us at longwoodchristchurch@gmail.com — we are here to help.
